CORE FUNCTIONS
PD Branch is responsible for the following core functions: - Acting as the lead
Branch for JAPCC participation in the development of Joint Air & Space
(A&S) Power related NATO strategic level and transformation policy,
doctrine and publications.
- Working together
with Concept & Development branch to further develop identified concepts[2].
- Acting as the
lead Branch for JAPCC in:
(1) participation in
the Interoperability, Integration and Standardisation process for NATO and for
Partner Nations’ air forces;
(2) coordination of JAPCC input to Defence Planning and expeditionary forces issues;
(3) support to NATO and National training, exercises, experimentation and simulation.
[2] Guiding principle for dividing responsibility between CD and PD branch is that CD active concepts could lead to creation or amendment of policies while PD concepts could enact policies.
